Restaurant owners Brandon and Lynn Miller share their passion for a healthy lifestyle with locals and opened the first plant based restaurant Vicksburg has ever had.

Brandon Miller met Lynn Miller while attending Warren Central High School. Lynn Miller said it was love at first sight when they met on her third day of ninth grade. The high school sweethearts separated when Lynn Miller moved to Georgia in 2016. During that time, they realized they didn’t want to be apart.

While in Georgia, she fell in love with how successful small businesses were. Lynn Miller eventually moved back to Vicksburg in 2017 to marry Brandon Miller. She knew she wanted to bring some of that success she witnessed back with her. Together, she and Brandon Miller sought out to open a vegan restaurant in their hometown.

It’s no secret that turning to more plant based options can improve health. Studies have proven that including vegan meals in ones diet can lower cholesterol among many other health benefits.

Brandon Miller, according to Lynn Miller, “has always had a passion for cooking.” When asked why he was set on opening a Vegan restaurant specifically, he responded, “I think it started when I just wanted to get healthier. I just felt like I needed to take care of my body. Becoming Vegan kind of forced me to eat healthy. I just think the difference I’ve felt, I wanted to give that to others and help them to feel better too.”

“I was surprised to find out how many vegans, vegetarians and health positive people there are in Vicksburg. We want to give them options,” stated Lynn Miller. “I would love for people to be able to know more about us and know we’re here because we really believe we can help people to feel healthier”

Sharon McLeod, Lynn Miller’s mother, added, “I’m so proud to see what Lynn has been doing here and how happy it makes her and Brandon to be helping people.”

The Squeeze Juice Bar and Vegan Eatery is located at 4308 Halls Ferry Road next to Morgan’s Bestway (formerly Piggly Wiggly). They serve up fresh pressed juices and from-scratch, plant-based dishes to those looking for healthy, tasty meals. They opened their doors to the public on Aug. 9 of 2021 and offer hearty and delicious specials throughout the week.

This family is on a mission to offer Vicksburg something unique that will help people feel good from the inside out. You can follow their Facebook page The Squeeze Juice Bar and Vegan Eatery for updates on lunch specials and deals.

If you do stop for a visit, you’ll notice that the Millers are always finding ways to make guests feel welcome. They even offer notes of affirmation, smiling cheerfully as they serve wholesome food. It turns out, one doesn’t have to be vegan to enjoy getting healthier with The Squeeze Juice Bar and Vegan Eatery.
