Vehicle fire on Cypress Street Monday night

A vehicle caught fire Monday night on Cypress Street, just off of Locust Street, in Vicksburg.

After briefly attempting to extinguish the fire, the driver called 911 for help.  Engine 6 responded to the scene and was able to put out the flames within a few minutes and before the fire could spread beyond the engine compartment.
