Vehicle fire quelled by sewage

A vehicle fire was quelled by sewage Monday morning.

Just before 11 a.m. a vehicle fire was reported in the 1200 block of Sherman Avenue involving a white Toyota.

Public Information Officer Jeff Riggs stated the vehicle was occupied by a family but they safely evacuated.

A nearby pump truck responded to the situation. Quick thinking led to the team using their tank of sewage to pump onto the flames before it was able to fully spread.

Warren County Firefighters arrived within minutes and found the flames subdued. Firefighters hit the hot spots of the vehicle to help ensure no flare ups.
