Vehicle flees from law enforcement Saturday morning
A gray sedan fled from Vicksburg Police officer Carlton Phillips Saturday morning.
Around 11 a.m., Phillips observed the vehicle driving recklessly on 61 South traveling at a high rate of speed and running other drivers off the roadway. Phillips gave pursuit.
The sedan turned off of 61 South and raced down Grange Hall attempting to elude Phillips. The vehicle made its way to Redbone and then back to 61 where other units joined the pursuit. Phillips reported several violations committed by the driver while attempting to catch up to the vehicle.
The gray sedan once again jumped on Grange Hall where Phillips was able to identify the license plate number for the vehicle. The plate came back to an address in Lorman along with the name registered with the vehicle. Phillips followed the vehicle for a short time thereafter but determined the speeds were too high on the two-lane country roads and terminated the chase out of a concern for public safety.
Several people reached out to the Vicksburg Daily News to get the details of this story including one who claimed they were nearly run off the road.
