VFD promotes two new lieutenants in pinning ceremony

Two Vicksburg Fire Department firefighters/EMTs, Elwin Johnson and Jonah Masterson, were promoted to Lieutenant during a pinning ceremony on Wednesday.

Johnson and Masterson were both hired on Feb. 13, 2019, by the Vicksburg Fire Department. They were both surrounded by families and friends who gathered at the pinning ceremony to witness them continue to live their dream and proudly serve their community.

Johnson is a native of Vicksburg and a graduate of Vicksburg High School.

Masterson is also a native of Vicksburg and a graduate of Porter’s Chapel Academy.

Johnson and Masterson are but two examples of the hard-working individuals we have serving our community within the Vicksburg Fire Department.
