VHS basketball player Layla Carter ranked as No. 3 player in the 2023 class

Vicksburg High School girl’s basketball player Layla Carter is now the No. 3 ranked player in Mississippi in the 2023 class.

The ranking came out last week by Mississippi Play Sports who updated the athlete’s rankings now that the basketball season is done.

Carter averaged 13.5 points per game this season for the Missy Gators as they advanced deep into the playoffs. She led her team in points during her sophomore she stepped up on multiple occasions to win finish the game for VHS.

Carter had a game-high of 37 points in a playoff game during the 2020-2021 season. Her talents are beginning to show more and more throughout each match and she continues to prove that she is one of the best players in the state.
