VHS brings home two big wins in scrimmage on Thursday

Vicksburg High School football team showed out on Thursday night by bringing home two victories against Wingfield and Port Gibson.
The Gators defeated Wingfield 20-0 in the first game before taking the field against Port Gibson.
In the game against Port Gibson, the VHS’s run-game played a crucial contribution to the 30-8 win.
Young players such as Collin Hill and Malik Montgomery controlled the ground game all night for VHS. Johnson scored two touchdowns in the win against Port Gibson, while teammate Montgomery and Otis James scored one touchdown a piece. James caused havoc on the field as Port Gibson had a tough time tackling him.
The Gator defense also showed up to play as Caleb Bryant and Demarcus Johnson both took down defenders all night.
Tonight’s victories were huge for Head Coach Todd McDaniel, who is going into his second season. The Gators are looking like a brand new team, packing the stands with supporters.
