VHS defeated Port Gibson 77-44 on Saturday

Vicksburg High School boy’s basketball team crushed Port Gibson 77-44 on Saturday.

The Gators came out handling business as Malik Franklin took over things with VHS leading 19-4.

Davian Williams stepped up in the second quarter as he knocked down a few 3-pointers. VHS had a 42-13 lead by halftime.

The Gators continued knocking down shots all day to maintain a heavy lead throughout the game.

Franklin finished with 20 points and three assists while Williams added 19 points with four assists. Jalen Jackson put up 10 points and Markel Derby contributed eight and Kealon Bass pitched in six.

Hedrick led the Blue Waves with 18 points and Hill added 11.

VHS is now 2-0 under Head Coach Kelvin Carter.
