Vicksburg High School football player Chris Williams is taking his talents to Millsaps College to further his education and advance his football career.

Williams made the announcement on Facebook where he expressed his gratitude for the people in his life that helped him achieve his goals.

“First I would like to thank God for all he’s blessed me with and the opportunities that have unfolded,” Williams said. “Secondly I would like to thank my family and coaches for helping along the way and preparing me for this moment and grooming me into a better athlete and student.”

“Lastly I want to thank my teammates and brothers, my success on the field came from you guys and I wouldn’t be where I am without you all.”

Williams was the kicker for VHS this season under head coach Todd McDaniel. One of his most notable games of the  season was against South Pike, when he nailed a 25-yard field goal in the final seconds to give the Gators a 23-22 win.
