The Vicksburg High School girls basketball team got two huge wins in the South Pike Christmas Classic.

VHS defeated Tylertown Tuesday in a 55-34 road victory. Jana Colenburg led the Gators in points, finishing with 15 points for the night.

Junior Destiny Sims came up with 12 points in the win over Tylertown, while sophomore Layla Carter and teammate Shakora Knight both finished with 6 points each.

Coming off their big win over Tylertown, the Gators brought that momentum Wednesday to face-off with South Pike, where they dominated in a 68-30 blowout victory.

Sophomore Layla Carter took over the game with 16 points, and Jana Colenburg came right behind her by finishing with 15 points again.

The Missy Gators controlled the game throughout as they did not let South Pike gain a lead.

Knight scored 7 points Wednesday night, and Janiah Caples came out with 10.
