VHS graduates the class of 2023

Vicksburg High School graduated the class of 2023 on Friday night.
The ceremony took place at the Vicksburg Convention Center where 134 students were declared as graduates. U.S. Congressman Bennie Thompson stepped in as the guest speaker for the new graduates shortly after Executive Principal Tameka Hyland made it known that “average is officially over at VHS” during her speech.
Sha’Kyria Allen represented VHS as the valedictorian and Aisha Williams represented as the proud salutatorian as they both shared wonderful words about their school.
The class of 2023 were awarded over $2.7 million in scholarships along with taking 1,248 semester hours of college coursework that saved over $1.2 million to the family of the graduates.
