VHS ninth grade football team came out with a 16-14 win against Northwest Rankin

Vicksburg High School ninth grade football team defeated Northwest Rankin 16-14 on Tuesday night.
Jordan Clay handled things at quarterback as he broke out for a 75-yard touchdown run. He finished the game with 127 rushing yards, one touchdown and one interception. Clay also completed 9 of 16 passes for 89 yards.
Nick Carson rushed for a 5-yard touchdown and finished with six carries, 48 rushing yards, three receptions and 27 receiving yards. Wallyss Curry had 36 rushing yards and 34 receiving yards while Patrick Moore had one catch for 28 yards.
Jon Michael Clay grabbed five tackles and a sack on defense and Carson also got five tackles. Moore finished with five pass deflections while Curry added seven tackles and two pass deflections.
VHS will travel to Madison Central on Tuesday.
