VHS powerlifting team honored by the city

Vicksburg High School powerlifting was honored for their great season where they managed to bring home the class 5A state championship title.

The team was honored by Mayor George Flaggs Jr,  Northward Alderman Michael Mayfield Sr, and Southward Alderman Alex Monsour at the Mayor and Board of Alderman meeting on Tuesday.

The Gators were well coached this season by Jimbo Nowell who ensured that he team did their best at every competition.

Multiple members of the team came in first place in the state championship meet and the city of Vicksburg is happy to see great athletes excel.
