Friday will be a big night for the Vicksburg High School football team as they will play Neshoba Central to become first place in their district.

Currently on a six game winning streak, the Gators are looking for a district title under head coach Todd McDaniel. A win this Friday could put VHS in the perfect position.

Not only has the defense been showing out for the Gators, but the offense has put up some big numbers, including 44 just two weeks ago against Callaway, with young quarterback Ronnie Alexander taking the snaps and multiple running backs taking the handoffs.

Only two teams in 5A Region 2 are undefeated, VHS and NCHS, who will battle it out this Friday at Neshoba for the first place seed.

The Gators have been widely recognized for their defense this season and will hit the road Friday to claim what they’ve been working towards all season, a district championship before the playoffs in a few weeks.

Next Friday, VHS will be on a bye week and preparing to take on Holmes County Central in their season finale.

The Gators will play on Friday at 7 p.m. and scores will be updated at the end of the game.
