Vicksburg boy’s basketball team defeat the Vikings
The Vicksburg High Gators started the game off hot yesterday and never gave up the lead as they defeated the Vikings 82-49.
Cameron Butler scored the first points of the day with a big three-pointer for the Gators. Butler led the Gators with 17 points in the game.
Taylon Smith was knocking down shots back-to-back for the Gators, especially in the first quarter where he dropped 14 points. The Gators were winning 19-4 by the end of the first quarter.
Daniel Smothers led the Vikings in points with 13 but it was not enough to keep up with the Gators as they took a 43-15 halftime lead.
The second half of the game was much like the first half with the Gators continuing to score plenty of points making it difficult for the Vikings to make a comeback. Anthony Lumpkin put up 9 points for the Vikings, but the Gators went on to win 82-49.
