Vicksburg churches can reopen Sunday

Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs is allowing churches to reopen effective this Sunday, May 17, under a modified COVID-19 proclamation he signed Friday.

Place of worship are encourage to limit attendance to 50% of their capacity, to observe social distancing, hygiene and mask guidelines, and to keep a list of attendees.

Funeral  and graveside services are encouraged to limit to attendance 50 people outdoors and 50% of capacity indoors.

Other changes in this proclamation include:

  • Restaurants that do not serve alcohol may offer in-house dining 24 hours/day.
  • Limitation of hours on parks and outdoor recreation is removed.
  • In accordance with Gov. Tate Reeves announcement Friday, tattoo parlors and dance studios may reopen with restrictions.
