“Fiber and Friends”: A fusion of music and crafts at Vicksburg Convention Center

The Vicksburg Convention Center is gearing up to host the anticipated “Fiber and Friends” event on Sep. 29 – 30. A collaboration partly funded by VisitMS and Visit Vicksburg, this two-day event is expected to attract up to 1,000 visitors from outside the city.

Highlights of the Event:

• Musical Performances: Both days will feature a rich lineup of jazz and blues music, celebrating the region’s rich musical heritage.
• Crafting Retreat: Attendees can look forward to a “sit and stitch” area, perfect for those wanting a quiet crafting retreat.
• Dining & Refreshments: The event promises catered food concessions and a cash bar. A special themed cocktail will also be introduced. Furthermore, for those keen on exploring local culinary delights, several favorite restaurants are located just a few blocks away.
• Fiber Craft Showcase: Dedicated to the arts of fiber crafting, the event will cover various disciplines including knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, and dyeing.
• Expert Instructors: The event will feature a mix of local, regional, and nationally recognized instructors in the fiber arts domain.
