Vicksburg man in custody after being found in possession of various drugs
A Vicksburg man is in custody after being found carrying various drugs during a traffic stop on Saturday.
At around 9 p.m. on Saturday, Warren County Sheriff’s Deputy Dustin Keyes observed a 2019 Chevy truck stopped in the middle of Highway 80 near Newman Road.
According to Sheriff Martin Pace, upon Keyes approaching the vehicle, the suspect sped off. Keyes maintained pursuit and was able to stop the vehicle.
The driver, Jacob Earl Cummins, 21, of Vicksburg, was found to be in possession of just under an ounce of methamphetamine, 16 ecstasy pills, amphetamine tablets, a small amount of marijuana and digital scales.
He has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
Cummins has yet to have an appearance in court. He is reported to have already been out on bond to another drug-related charge from June 20 and subsequently has a detainer placed.
The District Attorney will decide to file a petition with the court to hold without bond.
