Vicksburg faces a threat of severe weather this evening

The National Weather Service in Jackson has advised that Vicksburg and Warren County face a threat of severe weather this evening into the overnight hours.

A strong storm system is expected to move through the area beginning around 10 p.m. It will continue overnight and into the daytime on Thursday.

Damaging winds of up to 60 mph could hit the area along with the possibility of hail large as gold balls. Tornadoes are possible.
