Vicksburg Fire Department investigation leads to arson arrest

The Vicksburg Fire Department today announced that it identified a suspect in the Sept. 24 fire at the former Confederate Ridge Apartments on U.S. Hwy. 61 North.

Larry Shoops was identified by multiple witnesses, including Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, leaving the scene at the time of the fire. He is also a suspect in several previous fires at the same location.

Shoops is in custody of the Sheriff’s Office at this time, charged with two counts of arson by the Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s Office.
