Vicksburg gas customers will see a small reduction in their bills
The Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Alderman today approved a small reduction in customer’s natural gas bills.
A small fee was added to Vicksburg’s gas bills in 2015 for improvements to the city’s sewer system mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency.
“We were able to gain a profit of about $3 million in our gas lines,” Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr. told WJTV, allowing the city to stop collecting the fee on natural gas.
The reduction goes into effect Oct. 1.
In early August, the city announced it was removing a similar monthly fee of $5 from residential water bills.
