Vicksburg home lost to early morning fire
A Vicksburg home is a total loss after being engulfed by flames early Monday morning.
According to Vicksburg Fire Chief Craig Danczyk, Vicksburg Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 600 block of Rawlston Street at 5:42 a.m. Monday. Danczyk stated that multiple 911 calls were received reporting flames visible from the structure.
Engine six was the first arriving pumper on the scene, followed by Platform 1, Engine 7, Rescue, Battalion Chief and an ambulance.
The structure was fully involved by the time firefighters arrived. Danczyk stated the overtaken home was a threat to nearby structures but was able to be contained.
No injuries were reported. The home appears to have been vacant.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by Fire Investigator Nathaniel Williams.
