Vicksburg home spared thanks to quick firefighter response
A Vicksburg home was spared thanks to a quick response from Vicksburg firefighters.
Shortly after 9:30 a.m. a structure fire was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Street. Early reports stated a bedroom at the location was full of smoke.
Warren County Fire Coordinator Jerry Briggs and multiple units with the Vicksburg Fire Department quickly responded, including Engine 6, Rescue and Ladder 14.
After examining the residence, it was determined the fire was fueled by a mattress in one of the bedrooms in the residence.
No injuries were reported. Thanks to the quick response from firefighters, the only damage sustained was that of the mattress.
