Vicksburg Juneteenth Founder Ezell McDonald has passed away

VICKSBURG, Miss. (Vicksburg Daily News) – Beloved Vicksburg resident Ezell McDonald passed away Tuesday night at Merit Health River Region at 9:55 p.m.

McDonald was born in Vicksburg on December 20, 1954. During her life, she worked for the Army Corps of Engineers and was the founder of the Vicksburg Juneteenth event and president of the local Juneteenth Committee.

Her accomplishments throughout life served to bring community members together.  McDonald had an impact on lives within the community and will be missed my many.

Funeral arrangements have been made and will be held Thursday, July 29 at 2 p.m. at the City Auditorium.
