Vicksburg Mall doubles down on unattended minors
The Vicksburg Mall doubled down on its stance of not allowing minors unaccompanied at the location.
On Sunday, the mall addressed an incident and stated an increased police presence can be expected.
In a Facebook post, the mall stated, “We have clear video footage of the altercation last night and Monday morning We will be pressing charges on the kids trespassing under the age limit and also parents that dropped them off! AGAIN the mall is not a daycare!!!!! We will have Vicksburg PD posted in the rear of the mall every Friday and Saturday nights from here on! Parents that drop kids off will be charged with child neglect!”
In June 2022, a violent incident at the mall caused new measures and rules to be put in place.
Vicksburg Police Department not only announced the new rule to not allow unsupervised minors at Vicksburg Mall, but showed out in force to display how serious it was taking it.
The notice posted by the Vicksburg Police Department cites Mississippi Code 97-5-39, contributing to the neglect or delinquency of a child.
