Vicksburg man accused of robbing Rankin County Dollar General

A Vicksburg man and a Jackson woman were apprehended over the weekend, accused of robbing a Dollar General in Rankin County.
According to Rankin County Undersheriff Paul Holley, on Friday, a masked individual entered the store located on Highway 469 South, brandishing a semi-automatic pistol. A nearby resident managed to note down the license plate of a white Honda Accord that was parked in their driveway.
The Clinton Police Department identified the vehicle moving westbound on Interstate 20. Authorities then detained 26-year-old DeAnthony Smith of Vicksburg and 28-year-old Kaylen Peel of Jackson.
Both were subsequently booked into the Rankin County Jail on charges of armed robbery.
