Vicksburg resident Roy Williams was taken into custody for suspected involvement in the robbery of a pharmacy in Louisiana.

According to a report by L’observateur, the incident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. on May 4 when authorities were alerted to a robbery at the Walgreens located on West Airline Highway in LaPlace.

According to reports, Williams entered the store and bought a pack of Band-Aids. However, as the cashier attempted to provide him with change, Williams reached over the counter and snatched money from the cash drawer before fleeing the scene.

Williams was later apprehended by deputies from the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office. The stolen money was found in Williams’ possession at the time of his arrest, and he was subsequently charged with simple robbery.

He is currently being held by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office on outstanding charges in Ascension Parish.
