Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs, Jr. has announced during a Board of Mayor and Alderman meeting on Sep. 9 that he will not be extending the mask mandate that is currently in place until Oct. 4.

“I will not be extending or recommending to the board that the City of Vicksburg mask mandate continue, so on Monday October 4 it will expire but I still continue to highly recommend everyone take the vaccination and be responsibility for your own health,” Flaggs said.

The current COVID-19 Civil Emergency has been in effect since Aug. 26 and will end on Oct. 4. Flaggs will not recommend extending it to Northward Alderman Michael Mayfield Sr. and Southward Alderman Alex Monsour due to the high vaccination rates in Warren County.
