Two Vicksburg men arrested on gun and drug charges


Two Vicksburg men have been arrested after a lengthy investigation from both the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Vicksburg Police Department.
On Sept. 6, a search warrant was executed at 1402 Division Street, leading to the arrest of 35-year-old Brandon Harper. After a thorough investigation by both the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Vicksburg Police Department, Harper was charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and three counts of being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
30-year-old Devonte Thigpen turned himself in to Investigator Jeff Merit. He was subsequently charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of OxyContin.
The seized weapons included two assault rifles and several handguns.
Harper’s bond was set at $125,000. However, he currently has a no-bond detainer placed on him and will remain in the Warren County Jail.
Thigpen has since posted an $85,000 bond.
