Vicksburg Municipal Airport to receive $30,000 grant under CARES Act

The Vicksburg Municipal Airport will receive a $30,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration.

U.S. Congressman Bennie Thompson of Mississippi’s 2nd Congressional District, a Democrat, announced the grants in his district today. The award is part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act of 2020, also known as the CARES Act, which has allocated approximately $10 billion to commercial and general aviation airports.

Other awards in the district are as follows:

• County of Tunica & Tunica County Airport Commission/Tunica Municipal Airport – $69,000
• City of Lexington/CA Moore – $20,000
• County of Yazoo/Yazoo County Airport – $20,000
