Vicksburg native charged with murder in Dallas shooting

Vicksburg native Javis Dixon, 26, is facing murder charges after a weekend shooting in Dallas, Texas.

According to The Dallas Morning News, Dallas police responded to a shooting at Big T Plaza at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.

According to reports, 36-year-old Corderro Robinson was involved in an argument that escalated, leaving two people injured and Robinson dead at the scene.

A video surfaced on social media showing those involved leading up to shots being fired.

In a statement to CBS, Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn King Arnold stated, “The Big T Bazaar is committed to maintaining that this is a safe place to shop, that [the owner is] committed as he’s always been, as he stated, of making sure that he does have a partnership with this city but also with the Dallas Police Department and this surrounding community.

We’re going to make sure that we work with our community partners to make sure that no matter where you shop, no matter where you live, we know that it’s going to be a safe place and we just have to work together in tandem to make sure that public safety is number one.”

Javis Dixon was subsequently arrested and charged with murder. His bond has been set at $1.5 million.
