Vicksburg native Davis stepping into her second year as Golden Girls captain

Vicksburg native Kevia Davis is stepping up as captain of the Alcorn State University Golden Girls for her the second year in a row.
Last May, Davis was named captain of the world-class dance team whose moves went so viral in 2018 that the Golden Girls put the 40-year-old Fleetwood Mac classic “Dreams” back on the Billboard charts.
Although the 2020 football season was forfeited, Davis remained as captain of the squad. As the Braves prepare to return to the field and claim their place at the head of the SWAC pack, Davis and the Golden Girls will be rallying and entertaining the crowds alongside the ASU band.
Davis is no stranger to leadership or dance, having been captain of the Gator Girls dance team at VHS, where she graduated in 2018.
Alcorn’s football season is set to begin on Saturday, Aug. 28 when the Braves and Golden Girls will travel to Atlanta.
