Vicksburg native Freeman honored for viral video of him solving big math problems

Vicksburg native Aaron Thomas Michael Freeman was honored by the Vicksburg Mayor and Board of Alderman on Friday for solving multiple math problem on social media which went viral.

Freeman’s video reached over 18 million views Instagram, Facebook and TikTok where he is seen solving the math problems with no help from a calculator.

“I am grateful for the opportunity,” Freeman said. “I realize that it’s a lot you can go when you have a good support system an you have to prove a lot of people wrong.”

Freeman accepted his recognition plaque from Mayor George Flaggs, Jr., Southward Alderman Alex Monsour and Northward Alderman Michael Mayfield Sr.

Freeman’s video was also shared by notable individuals such as attorney Benjamin Crump, who captioned the video by saying “don’t let anyone tell you being smart isn’t cool.”
