Vicksburg native Tae Flaggs in training at the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps

A member currently in training at the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) Vicksburg campus, was born and raised in Vicksburg, MS.

Tae Flaggs spent her younger years growing up in Vicksburg and Jackson, Mississippi before moving to California as a teenager. She received her high school diploma from San Jose Job Corps and joined AmeriCorps to help serve communities in need.

While at the Vicksburg campus, Tae has been participating in the Corps Training Institute(CTI) along with 100 Corps members from all across the country. During the four-week training, members learn CPR/First Aid, chainsaw safety and other professional development including presentation and public speaking, disaster preparedness and health and wellness. Once CTI is complete, members are officially inducted into the program and leave for 10 months traveling across the South East U.S. on various community service projects focusing on the environment, urban and rural development and disaster response.
