Unusual odor in Vicksburg traced to CAM2 company at Port

Over the weekend, an unfamiliar smell alarmed the residents of Vicksburg, leading many to report a potential natural gas leak. The source of the odor was tracked down to a company located in the Port of Vicksburg named CAM2.

Due to the smell, there was a surge of calls to the Vicksburg Fire Department on Saturday morning from concerned citizens in the downtown area who suspected a natural gas leak.

CAM2 was identified by Interim Public Works Director, Dane Lovell, as the culprit behind the unusual scent.

Lovell assured the public that the issue has been promptly addressed by the company.
