Vicksburg PD capture shooting suspect
Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department arrested Omar Carter, 18, on Friday, April 17, at his residence on Wisconsin Avenue.
Carter was wanted for his role in an April 9 shooting at the New Main Apartments at 2727 Alcorn Drive.
Shooting victims told police at the time that they were inside their apartment when they heard several shots coming from outside in the parking lot. An investigation showed that the building was struck several times, and officers located one vehicle in the parking lot that was struck in the rear fender.
Carter has been charged with one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling and two counts of shooting into an unoccupied vehicle.
He appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Monday, April 20, before Judge Angela Carpenter who set his bond at $250,000 and bound over to the Warren County grand jury.
