Vicksburg PD continues investigation into Drusilla Lane shooting

The Vicksburg Police Department is continuing its investigation of a shooting that occurred in the 100 block of Drusilla Lane Saturday morning.

One unidentified victim suffered a wound in the torso Dec. 28, just before 4 a.m., and was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Police have not released the victim’s name, condition or other details as this is an open investigation.

Vicksburg Police also responded to the following calls this past weekend:

  • Officers responded to the area of Lover’s Lane in reference to shots fired on Friday, Dec. 27, just before 11 p.m. They found no evidence of shots being fired.
  • On Saturday, Dec. 28, officers responded to a residence in the 2400 block of Halls Ferry Road at 7:30 a.m., where the complainant reported that someone had shot into his house during the previous night.
  • Officers responded to an auto burglary/grand larceny call Sunday, Dec. 29, at 9:15 a.m. at a residence in the 2800 block of East Main Street. The complainant reported someone had entered his Dodge Ram pick-up truck and taken two iPads, two pairs of footwear and $250 in cash. The suspect later returned and took a generator, a power washer and two ladders from the house.
