The Vicksburg Police Department is reporting three felony arrests in separate incidents, a burglary and several shots-fired calls from Friday, April 10, until Monday, April 13.
Officers arrested Jeanette Spratley, 49, of Vicksburg, Friday on one count of uttering a forgery. The incident occurred at Community Choice Financial in October 2019.
Spratley appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court before Judge Angela Carpenter the same day, who set her bond at $2,500 and bound her over to the Warren County grand jury.
On Sunday, officers of the Vicksburg Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Team made contact with Steven Lyons, 27, of Port Gibson, Miss., at 3:07 a.m. Lyons was in a vehicle on Military Avenue near Halls Ferry Road after curfew.
Lyons was wanted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office on a burglary charge, and officers handed him over to authorities there. Lyons will face misdemeanor charges in Vicksburg at a later date.
Officers arrested Kenneth Townsend, 22, of Vicksburg, on one count of aggravated assault-domestic violence on Monday, April 13. He appeared before Judge Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court the same day. Carpenter bound Townsend over to the Warren County grand jury on a $30,000 bond.
In other reported incidents:
Sunday at 7:04 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1900 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard in reference to a residential burglary. The victim stated an Xbox One, multiple golden necklaces, a fireproof safe containing approximately $4,000, a .40 caliber handgun and a 12-gauge shotgun were stolen.
Police investigated three incidents of shots fired:
- Friday at 10:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 4400 block of Halls Ferry Road, where they collected spent shell casings. Witnesses gave a description of a suspect vehicle.
- On Saturday at 6:24 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Polk Street in reference to a single gunshot being fired. Officers searched the area but didn’t find any evidence.
- Officers responded to a shots-fired call at the Madison Glen Apartments, 1950 Hope St., on Saturday at 8:33 p.m., As the officers arrived on the scene, they saw a crowd running from the playground into apartments and vehicles. The officers did not observe a disturbance, but they stayed on scene until all parties were clear.
