Vicksburg PD make drug and gun arrest, and respond to shots fired calls

Vicksburg Police arrested Antonio Strong, 31, Saturday, April 18, on gun and drug charges.

Officers were responding to a trespassing call at a local hotel when they noticed a handgun in the hotel room and discovered it had been reported stolen.

They also found that Strong was in possession of 7.5 grams of cocaine and 20 Xanax pills.

Strong appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Monday, April 20, before Judge Angela Carpenter on one count of possession of a stolen firearm, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and one count of possession of cocaine.

Carpenter bound him over to the Warren County grand jury on a $100,000 bond.

In other incidents, Vicksburg officers responded to three calls of shots fired on Friday and Saturday. They found no evidence of shots fired at any of the calls.

  • Friday at 11:43 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of McAuley Drive.
  • Saturday at 10:47 a.m. officers responded to the 100 block of Singing Hills Road.
  • Saturday at 6:58 p.m. officers again responded to the area of McAuley Drive.
