Vicksburg PD makes arrests for credit card fraud and auto theft; reports two other incidents of auto theft

The Vicksburg Police Department took Latonya Woodland, 45, of Vicksburg, into custody on Thursday, Jan. 23, on one count of felony credit card fraud.

She appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Thursday, where Judge Angela Carpenter set her bond at $75,000 and ordered her bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.

Also in custody is Cheryl Sanchez, 39, of Durant, Miss. Vicksburg police arrested Sanchez on Friday, Jan. 24, on one count of auto theft. Her arrest stems from the theft of a vehicle from the Circle K convenience store, 4888 U.S. Highway 61 South, reported on Nov. 19, 2019.

Sanchez had her initial appearance in Vicksburg Municipal Court before Judge Carpenter Friday and received a $15,000 bond. She has also been bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.

Vicksburg police also reported two incidents of auto theft, both for Thursday, Jan. 23:

  • A 6:46 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Fairground Street where the complainant reported someone stole his 2007 Chevrolet Suburban.
  • At 12:33 p.m. officers responded to Blackburn Motor Company, 2175 North Frontage Road, where the complainant reported someone stole a 2019 Dodge Charger SXT.
