Vicksburg PD reports vehicle theft, residential burglary and shots fired

The Vicksburg Police Department reports that the following incidents occurred on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020:

At 12:45 p.m. a complainant came to the police station to report a vehicle theft. He reported that his 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche was stolen the night before from a residence off U.S. Highway 61 South.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard for a residential burglary at 7:09 p.m. The complainant reported that a suitcase containing clothes and a jewelry box containing jewelry and old coins were missing.

At 9:48 p.m., officers responded to Parkwood South Apartments, 510 Bazinsky Road, for a complaint of shots fired. When the officers arrived, they found no evidence of shots having been fired.
