Vicksburg PD responds to auto burglaries and shots fired; incident reports for Jan. 24 to Jan. 27

The Vicksburg Police Department reported four incidents of theft from vehicles (auto burglaries) from Friday, Jan. 24, to Monday, Jan. 27:

  • Friday, Jan. 24, at 10:20 a.m., a complainant came to the Police Station to report an auto burglary that occurred in the 300 block of Harriet Avenue. The victim stated that someone stole a handgun, a Taser, and a wallet.
  • Sunday, Jan. 26, \at 2:40 p.m., officers responded to the City Auditorium at 901 Monroe St. where the complainant stated a revolver had been taken from the center console of the vehicle. The vehicle had been left unlocked.
  • Monday, Jan. 27, at 6:29 a.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of Broadhill Drive where the complainant stated a Dell laptop had been taken from a 2012 Ford VMO.  The vehicle had been left unlocked.
  • Monday, Jan. 27, 7:09 a.m. officers responded to the 2400 block of Drummond Street where the complainant stated a rifle and wallet had been taken from a Ford F-150. The vehicle had been left unlocked.

Officers also responded to three incidents of shots fired during the same period. They did not find evidence of shots fired or suspicious activity at any of the calls.

  • Friday, Jan. 24, at 9:13 p.m., officers responded to the area of Speed and Drummond Streets.
  • Friday at 9:56 p.m., officers responded to the area of Drummond and Division Streets.
  • On Sunday, Jan. 26, at 2:21 a.m., officers responded to Elizabeth Circle.
