Vicksburg PD responded to auto and home burglaries Thursday

The Vicksburg Police Department is continuing to see a number of auto burglaries in the city, particularly from vehicles that have been left unlocked.

Officers responded to two auto burglaries in the 300 block of Cain Ridge Road on Thursday, Feb. 13, and in both incidents, the cars were not locked.

  • The first call came in at 6:39 a.m. The victim stated that someone entered his 2000 Chrysler 300 and stole a cup of change from the center console.
  • The second was at 7:08 a.m. The victim said that someone entered her 2015 Toyota Camry and took a Puma backpack with an HP laptop from the back seat and a Dooney & Burke handbag from the trunk.

Officers also responded to two residential burglaries on Thursday.

  • At 8:31 a.m., officers responded to an address in the 2700 block of Alcorn Drive where the resident reported that three flat-screen televisions, food, two pairs of Nike Air Jordan shoes, a PlayStation 4, an Xbox with console and a variety of video games were stolen.
  • At 2:17 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1500 block of East Avenue where the homeowner said a 45-inch Samsung television and two diamond rings are missing.
