The Vicksburg Police Department announced the arrest of Christopher Williams, 23, of Vicksburg, for his role in a shooting at Circle K in September.

Just after 2:30 a.m. on Sep. 5, a call came into Vicksburg Warren 911 of a person at Merit Health River Region who had been shot.

Shortly thereafter, radio traffic indicated that three women had been shot and were being treated in the emergency room at the hospital.

Numerous VPD and Sheriff’s Department units, at least 10, were at Merit Health River Region. Family members of the assailants and victims gathered at River Region and were confrontational. A fight was broken up at the hospital but no one was detained.

On Wednesday, Oct. 12, Vicksburg police arrested Williams for aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Williams appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Thursday and was given a $150,000 bond by Judge Angela Carpenter.
