Vicksburg police arrest second suspect in connection with Best Western shooting

Vicksburg police have made a second arrest in connection with a shooting that occurred July 31 at the Best Western Motel on North Frontage Road.

Police took Glenn Edward Powell, 18, of Vicksburg, into custody at the Vicksburg Police Department Tuesday, Aug. 11, charging him with one count of aggravated assault with a firearm.

Powell appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Tuesday where Judge Angela Carpenter set his bond at $500,000 and bound him over to the Warren County grand jury.

His is the second arrest related to this incident where at least one person was injured. Justin Lawrence was arrested Aug. 1.
