Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department arrested a man Saturday for shooting into an occupied vehicle.

At 4:33 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the area of Cedar School near Warrenton Lane in reference to a shooting. The victim said Xavier Allen fired shots at him, causing damage to his 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis.

Officers stopped Allen’s vehicle and saw a rifle on the front passenger seat and a spent shell casing on the back seat. They arrested Allen for shooting into an occupied vehicle.

He appeared before Judge Penny Lawson in Vicksburg Municipal Court Monday, Aug. 17, where she bound him over to the Warren County grand jury on a $20,000 bond.
