Vicksburg Police arrest three suspects in burglary; one suspect still at large

Vicksburg Police officers have made three arrests and are seeking a fourth suspect in connection with a burglary called in on Sunday, Dec. 16, on Meadowvale Drive.

The suspect at large is Demond Thomas of Vicksburg, wanted for residential burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Jeremy Johnson, 31, was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana and aggravated assault and was transported to the Madison County Jail awaiting arraignment.

Police also arrested Jamaris McDaniel, 19, and Lamar Gray Jr., 18, (photo unavailable) and charged each with one count of residential burglary and one count of conspiracy to commit a crime. McDaniel is being held in the Warren County Jail and Gray in the Madison County Jail.

All three will appear in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Wednesday, Dec. 18.

Vicksburg Police responded to two calls of residential burglary this past weekend:

  • On Saturday, Dec. 14, officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of Marian Lane where the homeowner reported someone broke into his home and stole four TVs, two DVD players, an Xbox 360 video game, an OBU game, clothes, two shotguns, a.22 caliber rifle, a.38 revolver and a DVD receiver with speakers.
  • On Sunday, Dec. 15, officers responded to a residence in the 2200 block of Short Main Street where the complainant stated someone went into his garage and stole a pancake air compressor, a rear tine tiller, a leaf blower, a weed eater, a pruner attachment and an edger attachment.

Vicksburg Police officers also responded to three reports of shots fired. In all three cases, officers did not find any signs of shots fired.

  • Just after midnight on Sunday, Dec. 15, officers responded to the area of Main and First North streets.
  • On Sunday, officers also responded to the area of Bowmar and Drummond streets.
  • On Monday, Dec. 16, officers responded to the area of Drummond Street and Urban Court.
