The Vicksburg Police Department has announced the recent arrest of two Vicksburg residents for separate gun charges.

Jaleesha Bingham, 26, of Vicksburg was arrested Saturday, Nov. 19, at 1:30 a.m. following a traffic stop of the vehicle in which she was a passenger. A Sig Sauer 9mm pistol that had been reported stolen in Port Gibson, Mississippi, was found in her possession.

Bingham appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Monday, Nov. 21, on a charge of possession of a stolen firearm. Her bond was set at $5,000 and she was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.

Derrick L. Darden, Jr., 22, of Vicksburg was arrested Monday, Nov. 21, at 9:45 p.m. on a warrant for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. This arrest follows a rap video produced last year in which several subjects displayed firearms.

Darden appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court before Judge Angela Carpenter on Tuesday, Nov. 22, where he was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury on a $50,000 bond.
