Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department arrested a woman on narcotics charges Tuesday after a traffic stop.

The officers arrested, Erica Lucas, 34, of Vicksburg, after stopping a 2005 Dodge Ram near the intersection of Iowa Avenue and North Frontage Road for running a stop sign. Noticing a strong smell of marijuana inside the vehicle, they conducted a search and found methamphetamine.

Lucas appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Wednesday charged with possession of methamphetamine. Judge Penny Lawson bound her over to the Warren County grand jury on a $20,000 bond.
