The Vicksburg Police Department has announced National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). This event is an opportunity for residents to safely dispose of their unused or expired medications.

The collection site will be set up at the Walgreens Pharmacy parking lot located at 3341 Halls Ferry Road on Saturday, Apr. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The site will accept a wide range of medications including narcotics, over the counter medications, prescription medications and vitamins. However, they will NOT accept syringes, inhalers, liquid medications or ointments/lotions.

The event will provide a safe and convenient way for the community to dispose of unused or expired medications.

For more information about National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day or how to properly dispose of medications, please visit the DEA’s website.
